Born sometime ago in Chicago, Alberto Ugarte strives to create art that is visually stimulating while also evoking a sense of intrigue and amazement.
By using pop culture and current trends as subject matter, his work appeals to private collectors and commercial institutions alike. Working from an extensive pallette of colors and mediums and utilizing various techniques, his art is equally exciting and eye-catching whether it be a swirling oil painting or a more contained, highly structured pen and ink composition.
Although artistically inclined at a very early age, Albert’s formal art education began at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he studied painting, drawing and traditional film animation. His paintings and illustrations have been purchased by an array of clients from authors seeking images for their books to restaurateurs and club owners intent on enlivening their establishments. His art has been the center of cutting-edge media campaigns featured on CNN and covered by the Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News, Canadian Press and the New York Daily News; while his clients range in diversity from PETA and The Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago to the Lincoln Park Conservatory and Three Floyds Brewery
